Dorchester Community Church

About DCC

Our church has been a part of this community since 1988. It has always been a "community" church. One of the questions our leadership revists regularly is "If we closed the doors of our chuch, would anyone in the community miss us?" We believe the answer is "yes" and we continue to serve our community as needs arise. The congregation is as unique as the church building itself. We might be described as a "Heinz 57" kind of church.

Our building was constructed in 2009 and we believe it is another reflection of who we are as a church. We have a building like no other using a tensioned membrane design by Sprung Instant Structures LTD. With over 6700 square feet, our new church, with its flexible design, can grow with us and give us the resources needed to serve our community better. We are a community church, affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. If you would like to know about the PAOC, please visit http://paoc.org. We encourage people to grow in their faith being rooted in God and growing in community. Some slogans we have used to guide us are; "Be the Change" "It's Not About Us" "Make a Difference" We are thankful to the Lord for His presence, blessings, guidance and faithfulness.

Rev. Jeff Strokan

Pastor Jeff has served as Senior/Lead Pastor since September 24, 1998. Jenny and Jeff have two daughters, Justine and Julia. "I believe that the spiritual aspect in everyone's life is the most important. I am Christ centered and biblically based in my beliefs. I believe that the local church should serve the community. I believe that there are no perfect people and everyone should be able to attend church just as they are and experience God's love and acceptance. I believe life is short and we should always strive to make a difference."
